Over the years, whenever I get together with other women we always end up talking about how much time we spend doing things that we never trained for.
Nothing in our formal education prepared us for this job - the housewife.
Women my age grew up with some strange notion of gender equality. We thought that just because we scored the same A, as any guy worth his salt, on every math test ever designed, our lives would be very different from our mothers'. We just did not realize, that in the grand scheme of things doing the dishes was the imperative and balancing a chemical equation, well... superfluous. There are some things that just have to be done. And the sooner you stop fighting them, the sooner you get them out of the way - the sooner you can get to the things you actually want to do.
This blog is about all those things that just have to be done. The fact that we do not enjoy doing them is all the more reason to do them more efficiently so they can be over faster.
I do not plan to be preaching, my only goal is to genuinely share - weekly menus, recipes, my typed up grocery lists, my housekeeping schedules, ideas on time management, and organizing closets among others.I do believe in the free dissemination of information so go ahead, print, copy, edit, share, claim as your own any or all the documents in here without any guilt what so ever. If this frees up even two minutes of your time, then I am that much gladder. Besides, I have learned so much from so many people on the internet that I cannot even begin repaying any of that debt.
However, I cannot do this alone so any help I can get would be greatly appreciated, I am looking for co-authors and collaborators. We are all good at some things and can use help with some other things. Let us stop trying to reinvent the wheel on our own and instead pool our resources and help each other finish our chores earlier, and then we can all go out for coffee or take a class or do nothing :)
